Chess is like problem-solving at scale.
It’s a battle of strategy, memory, pattern recognition, and composure — so why do most chess apps feel like either kids’ games or dated relics? OffChess is my attempt to treat chess training with the seriousness (and simplicity) it deserves.
OffChess started as a side project built by me — Avadhesh, because my Wi-Fi signal didn't reach in the toilet.
I got tired of needing an internet connection just to get better at chess.
So I asked a simple question:
What if you could train anywhere - on a plane, in the mountains, or during a commute — without distractions or data usage?
So I built OffChess: a modern, offline-first chess puzzle app that scales with you. I’ve packed over 100,000 real-game chess puzzles into a clean, beautiful interface, added adaptive difficulty, and designed every feature to help you actually improve, not just grind. And I’m just getting started.
I believe puzzle training should be lightweight, fast, and honest.
No bloat, no tricks, no ads interrupting your thinking time.
Just pure chess improvement in your pocket.
If you’re excited by that vision, whether you’re a designer, developer, or player — feel free to reach out.
Always happy to connect.
